Zoe's Dedication

Another special Mother's Day gift was being able to stand before God and our church and dedicate our daughter to him. During the dedication Zoe was prayed for by our pastor, our church leaders and church family. They prayed specifically that she would experience eternal and abundant life in Christ, and that she would be used by God to bring such life to others. We also had a part in the dedication, praying a prayer of commitment to God with these words:

"Our Father, entrusted with this child, we commit ourselves to work out our salvation with fear and trembling as You work in us. Jesus, we commit ourselves to keep growing as husband and wife. In all of life, we will invite Zoe to see and love you. In Christ, we will train her to love all that is good and to obey. By your Spirit, we will encourage Zoe, rather than provoke anger or bitterness."

May we, by His grace, be able to live out these words in our marriage and family, to the glory of God.
