Torn

So...this post has nothing to do with seeing Zoe grow except for the fact that maybe when she's older we will all sit down and watch American Idol together.

Having said that, here's the dilemma:

It's the battle of the David's and the question remains - who will it be? Cook or Archuleta?

Uche and I have been huge Archuleta fans since day one. His rendition of Bryan Adams' "Heaven" during Hollywood week still takes my breath away. He is 17 years old, has a fantastic voice, and seems to be an all around sweet and humble kid. How can you not want him to win?

On the other hand, there's David Cook. It took some time for me to warm up to him (I couldn't quite get past his strange hairstyle during the first few weeks). It seems like they made him cool enough looking for the Idol stage around the time that he dropped his Billy Jean performance on us. Now that was a turning point for Cook, and us, in our affections toward him. Since then he has been delivering some pretty unique and awesome performances and seems to be a natural star. He definitely holds the title for most improved contestant, but can he win it all?

I'd be happy if either won, really, but there's a part of me that kind of thinks Cook should take the cake. I'm pretty sure he's more of an "American Idol" than Archuleta. Those of you that know what an Archuleta fan I am may be surprised to hear me say that. But alas...the time has come...and only one can win it all. Uche wants to actually vote this week (we are avid watchers but we're the people that never vote and then complain passionately about how stupid "America" is when the wrong person gets kicked off). So I am forced to decide where my loyalty really lies. I feel torn. I only have a few more days. Help!
